Isn’t a picture worth a thousand words? Don’t you sometimes wish you could see what Dr. Michael W. Whitecar sees with his microscopic loupe glasses? With our intraoral camera technology, we are able to use a camera the size of a small wand right in your mouth, which takes highly magnified photos of your teeth. These pictures are captured and displayed on our computer screen for you and Dr. Whitecar to view and to discuss possible treatment options.
How the Intraoral Camera Works
The intraoral camera is about the size of a pen, making it easy and comfortable to use. As the camera moves around your mouth, it captures detailed images of your teeth and gums. These images instantly appear on a computer screen, allowing you to see exactly what the dentist sees. By viewing these images together, you can better understand any concerns and be part of the decision-making process.
This technology goes beyond a traditional dental mirror. It allows us to detect problems that might otherwise be difficult to see, such as early signs of decay, tiny cracks, or worn fillings. Being able to show you the issue in real time also builds trust and clarity. Instead of just hearing about a problem, you can see it for yourself.
